Gunther Celebrates One Year As WWE Intercontinental Champion

Gunther is celebrating one year as the WWE Intercontinental Champion in style with a cigar and a vacation.

The Austrian’s first taste of championship gold on WWE’s main roster came during the June 10, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown, when he won the title from Ricochet.

Since then, Gunther has retained against Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura, Braun Strowman, and others to make it to one year as champion.

On Twitter, the Imperium leader gave a glimpse of his celebration.

Gunther’s next milestone will come this September, and if he can surpass September 9, he will have surpassed the Honky Tonk Man for the longest reign as Intercontinental Champion.
