WWE superstar and legendary figure Goldberg made an appearance via satellite at Friday Night SmackDown, where he laid down a challenge to a surprising figure: The Fiend. During his talk, Goldberg said that while watching Royal Rumble with his son, he got the itch to wrestle again, and while there are some “usual suspects” he could have challenged, he has eyes set instead on the Universal Championship.

“I’m gonna get straight to the point. Last week I watched the Royal Rumble with my boy and it was downright inspiring. It got me thinking … it gave me that itch again. I know the usual suspect, Brock Lesnar, has his hands full with Ricochet and Drew McIntyre, but what about the Universal Championship … I never got a rematch. Everyone knows I like to meet a challenge head on.”

From there, he was interrupted by none other than Bray Wyatt, with Bray accepting on The Fiends behalf and once again inviting Goldberg to let The Fiend in. No event for this match was specified, however, so we’ll have to wait for more word from WWE before we find out just where these two iconic superstars will be going at it.
