Wrestling veteran Bill Goldberg is preparing for his last ever bout, slated for 2025 and optimistically hoping for it to occur in the summer season. His last time in the wrestling ring was in 2022, where he fell to Roman Reigns in the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.
Fast forward to October 2024, intense sparks flew between Goldberg and reigning World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER during WWE Bad Blood. Previously, eWn had reported plans for the two titans to clash in a face-off.
Recently, Goldberg made an appearance on the “Ariel Helwani Show,” during which he divulged that WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque touched base about a potential retirement match. Goldberg shared,
“One day, while I was on my tractor on the land here, mowing the lawn, I received a call from Hunter [Triple H]. I was flabbergasted. I hung up the first time as I failed to recognize the caller. On reconnecting, I was highly grateful and honored he included me in his thoughts. In an interview that I’d previously done, I had mentioned feeling I was due a retirement match, and if I was still interested in that, perhaps we should discuss. I feel this is indicative of my respect from the past. We all know that ultimately, this is a commercial decision. The extent of this, no one can say. But, I believe Triple H was being sincere and felt if this is something I wanted, I was worthy of it. It took them some time to contact me, but I wasn’t going to chase after it. That’s not my style. If it meant going down like in Saudi, then so be it.”
As of now, WWE is yet to confirm who will be Goldberg’s final adversary.
