During a recent episode of “The Snake Pit” podcast, Gerald Brisco shared insightful reflections on his experiences in the world of wrestling, particularly his interactions with the prominent figure, Ted Turner, and his wrestling matches with Jake Roberts, among other topics.

Below are selected highlights from the podcast:

On his perspective about Ted Turner’s admiration for wrestling, Brisco stated: “Turner displayed an exceptional passion for the sport, in my opinion. Not just us, but others had observed the same. One instance that comes to mind is when Turner invited Jack and I to use his office, provided we maintained its orderliness. He wanted us to make sure it looked the same when we leave as it did when we entered. This simple gesture showed his respect for the sport and the wrestlers. Regardless of the wrestler’s position on the card, Turner treated all with the utmost respect and admiration. I hold nothing but positive feelings toward him.”

Discussing his experience of wrestling Jake Roberts, Brisco remarked: “In my view, Jake was one of the finest players in the game. If we keep his outstanding promotional skills aside for a moment, few could deny his impressive performance in the ring. Despite his role as a face or a heel, Jake’s talent was undeniable. He had a simple mindset, ‘put me in a position that will bring in revenue.’ I was certain that if we managed Jake Roberts appropriately, he could significantly impact our earnings.”
