Gene Snitsky, ex-WWE superstar, made an appearance on the “Insight” podcast. He shared his thoughts on his time in WWE, the infamous baby punting incident that marked his legacy, and much more.
Here are few key points from the conversation:
Talking about the Paul London Royal Rumble, Snitsky on his current wrestling status: “Wrestling hasn’t completely exited my life. I occasionally participate. I recently had stem cell injections in my knee on March 29 due to a meniscus problem. I visited the highly competent team at the LifeMed Institute in Maryland. They administered the injection and I also had some vitamin fusion therapy with my wife. I have been feeling spectacularly strong since then and the workouts have been thriving. Although I can’t explain the science behind it, it has been an impressive experience.”
Discussing about his unplanned involvement with Chelsea Green: “It really wasn’t planned. I’ve known Daivari for a long time, having traveled with him during WWE. He is now working as a road agent. He asked me to attend the Wilkes Barre show and we just decided to go. While we were catching up with Daivari, John Cohen proposed a backstage interaction with Chelsea. I’ve known Chelsea for ages, she is exceptionally talented. I instantly said yes! It was quite a light moment and we got it in one take.”
Reflecting on the unforgettable baby punting incident: “Its a peculiar part of my wrestling career. Never did I envisage such a storyline when I first started wrestling. I hadn’t wrestled a single dark match and I was suddenly the show’s prime heel. It was a rapid transition.”
Responding to fan reactions believing the baby was real: “This may be hard to believe, but some people thought that it was an actual baby. I have to clarify, there’s a group of fans who consider what they see on TV as reality. It’s simply a television show, we aren’t actually kicking infants. It’s all part of the act!”
