Tonight’s episode of NXT is over, but next week’s is already shaping up to be one of the biggest nights for the company in recent memory, complete with two huge matches.
Announced during tonight’s episode, NXT’s General Manager William Regal revealed that due to how much talent NXT has, a special Gauntlet Eliminator Match will take place to determine the next No. 1 Contender to the NXT Championship. The match will see two men start in the ring, with a new competitior entering every four minutes. The only way to be eliminated in the match is via pinfall or submission, and the last man standing will earn a title shot against Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver in October.
Alongside this big match, a special Battle Royal will take place to dertermine who will be the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. This match will see 11 superstars enter the ring, with all of them trying to earn the opportunity to take on Io Shirai. After another dominant win, Tommaso Ciampa will also be wrestling again next week, this time against Jake Atlas, who called him out during tonight’s NXT.
#WWENXT's roster is too stacked to do a regular No. 1 Contender's match for @FinnBalor's #NXTTitle.
