Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!
1) Take a shot in the dark. Who do you think will be the next people to dethrone the new champions in WWE, NXT and ROH?
- I don’t have the slightest idea who Mark Briscoe drops the ROH World Championship to. Uh…PAC maybe? *Shrug*
- Roxanne Perez drops the NXT Women’s Championship to Giulia, unless she’s the target for the Women’s North American Championship.
- A-Town Down Under drops the SmackDown Tag Team Championship to The Street Profits.
- Awesome Truth drops the Raw Tag Team Championship to….tough call, maybe Imperium?
- Sami Zayn drops the Intercontinental Championship to either Chad Gable (maybe after a heel turn) or Bronson Reed
- Damian Priest drops the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre.
- Bayley drops the Women’s Championship to Tiffany Stratton.
- Cody Rhodes drops the WWE Championship to Gunther.
2) Over all the shows from this week in all the companies, what do you think was the single best match?
For the moment itself, it’s hard for me not to go with Cody Rhodes beating Roman Reigns.
But if I’m looking at all this within a bubble and I’m talking pure bell-to-bell action, I’d actually have to lean more toward either the ladder match for the tag titles or the triple threat for the United States Championship.
Those are the two matches I could see myself going back and checking out, even though I know full well the finale of WrestleMania Sunday is the video clip that I’ll see way more often in comparison.
3) What do you think was the single most shocking or surprising moment (good or bad) from WrestleMania Week 2024?
The go-to answers are going to be things like Damian Priest cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase and the guest appearances in the main event and all, but I want to highlight some other things that will go under the radar.
Ridge Holland turning heel, especially at the START of the Joe Gacy and Shawn Spears match, and for Gacy to then go on to win that, was super surprising to me. For that matter, the announcement of the NXT Women’s North American Championship wasn’t something I saw coming at all, and even Tony D’Angelo failing to win the NXT Championship was shocking to me.
They aren’t hugely impactful things, but Snoop Dogg doing commentary for a Bubba Ray Dudley refereed Philadelphia Street Fight wasn’t on my bingo card, either.
4) If you watched the WWE Hall of Fame, which was your favorite speech? If you didn’t watch the Hall of Fame, why was that the case?
Roman Reigns knocked it out of the park with his speech, only for Paul Heyman to overtake his spot as the best one of the night and set the tone in a way no others could follow up. Even The Rock paled in comparison. Heyman simply killed it, and I thought it was one of the best speeches in Hall of Fame history. But again, shout out to Roman for an absolutely fantastic speech, too.
People who do the “What?!” chants during things like Bull Nakano’s speech…c’mon. How disrespectful. People who were lost and confused during Thunderbolt Patterson’s speech…I totally understand why, cause I was so lost on that one, too.
On a personal level, when it comes to my point of view as a fan, I feel like the Hall of Fame this year was a lackluster ceremony that happened to start off with one of the best things in the history of this concept, which is strange.
5) Are there any particular surprises you’re expecting for the Raw after WrestleMania?
If the reports are true that Jacob Fatu has signed with WWE, then I could certainly see him factoring into this, as well as potentially Tama Tonga. But maybe those guys could end up in NXT instead.
I think we could possibly see The Rock have some kind of segment where he trashes Roman Reigns and sets up an angle for the next year to culminate at WrestleMania 41.
I would be surprised if we had any call-ups from NXT. Those haven’t been as big of a factor in the Raw After WrestleMania in recent years, and the draft should be right around the corner, which makes more sense as when to incorporate them. But maybe I’m missing something and WWE plans to bring someone into the mix for Raw (or SmackDown, for that matter).
The new era we’re heading into doesn’t need to have someone like Stone Cold pop up here. It’s up to the Superstars on the current roster to take the ball, and this episode is going to already be packed just breaking down the fallout of WrestleMania.
Let us know your thoughts about these questions by answering them in the comments!
The wrestling world is abuzz with excitement after WrestleMania Week 2024, and fans are eager to discuss their thoughts and opinions on the events that unfolded. In this week’s Monday Morning Q&A, we delve into some burning questions and invite readers to share their perspectives.
1) Who will be the next people to dethrone the new champions in WWE, NXT, and ROH?
Speculation runs rampant as fans try to predict who will be the next challengers to the newly crowned champions. In ROH, Mark Briscoe’s reign as the World Champion is up for debate, with some suggesting PAC as a potential contender. In NXT, Roxanne Perez’s NXT Women’s Championship may be in jeopardy, with Giulia being a popular choice to take the title. A-Town Down Under’s SmackDown Tag Team Championship could be at risk from The Street Profits. The Raw Tag Team Championship held by Awesome Truth might see a challenge from Imperium. Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship could be on the line against Chad Gable or Bronson Reed. Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight Championship may face a threat from Drew McIntyre. Bayley’s Women’s Championship might be dropped to Tiffany Stratton. Lastly, Cody Rhodes’ WWE Championship could be taken by Gunther.
2) What was the single best match across all shows during WrestleMania Week?
With a plethora of matches to choose from, fans are torn between Cody Rhodes’ victory over Roman Reigns and the ladder match for the tag titles or the triple threat for the United States Championship. While Rhodes’ win against Reigns was a standout moment, the ladder match and triple threat match showcased exceptional in-ring action.
3) What was the most shocking or surprising moment from WrestleMania Week 2024?
While many expected Damian Priest cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase and guest appearances in the main event, there were other surprising moments that went under the radar. Ridge Holland’s sudden heel turn during the Joe Gacy and Shawn Spears match, the announcement of the NXT Women’s North American Championship, and Tony D’Angelo failing to win the NXT Championship were unexpected twists. Additionally, Snoop Dogg commentating a Bubba Ray Dudley refereed Philadelphia Street Fight caught fans off guard.
4) Which speech at the WWE Hall of Fame was your favorite?
Roman Reigns delivered a powerful speech, but Paul Heyman stole the show with his captivating address. Heyman’s speech set the tone and is considered one of the best in Hall of Fame history. Thunderbolt Patterson’s speech left some fans confused, while disrespectful “What?!” chants during Bull Nakano’s speech garnered criticism.
5) Are there any surprises you’re expecting for the Raw after WrestleMania?
Fans anticipate potential surprises on the Raw after WrestleMania, including the rumored signing of Jacob Fatu and the involvement of Tama Tonga. The Rock may have a segment where he confronts Roman Reigns, setting up an angle for WrestleMania 41. While NXT call-ups have been less common in recent years, there is a possibility of new talent joining Raw or SmackDown. However, fans acknowledge that the fallout from WrestleMania alone will make for an action-packed episode.
As fans eagerly await the Raw after WrestleMania, they continue to share their thoughts and predictions on these intriguing questions. The wrestling community is buzzing with excitement, and only time will tell how these storylines unfold.
