In a recent installment of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Wrestler Gangrel delved into his unexpected appearance at 2024’s AEW Double Or Nothing. During the event, he shared a much-anticipated reunion with his previous companion from The Brood, known as Adam Copeland or “Edge.”
The podcast had several crucial takeaways:
Addressing Adam Copeland’s injury, Gangrel said, “I checked on him and hoped it was just an ankle sprain or something similar. Then I took a red-eye flight. Upon landing, I texted him once more, and he informed me he had visited the hospital. It turned out he had a fractured tibia and would require surgery. He’s recuperating at home now. It’s truly disheartening to witness such a misfortune befall such an exceptional individual.”
When asked about Copeland advocating for him to appear in AEW, Gangrel revealed, “Once he decided to collaborate with AEW, he nurtured this particular idea … he reached out and said, ‘Hey, everyone here thinks it’d be intriguing, what are your thoughts on making an appearance at Double Or Nothing and aiding me in finishing up the idea. It would be a sort of reunion,’ to which I responded, ‘I would love to’ … He assured me that a broken leg wouldn’t deter him from making that moment happen.”
Copeland battled against Malakai Black in the Steel Cage Match defending his TNT Title at AEW Double Or Nothing 2024. Regrettably, the “Rated R Superstar” suffered a leg break during the clash and subsequently underwent surgery. This incident has led to an indefinite pause in his wrestling career.
