Gail Kim is arguably the greatest women’s wrestler of all time.

Kim signed with WWE in October 2002 and spent only eight months in WWE’s developmental system (OVW) before making her main roster debut. In 2003, Kim made her WWE debut on the June 30th episode of RAW where she competed in a Battle Royal for the WWE Women’s Championship. Kim won the match and the title, last eliminating Victoria. She held the WWE Women’s Championship for just a month, having one successful defense over Molly Holly, before losing it to her in July.

While speaking to Lucha Libre Online, Kim reflected on her Women’s Title win and expressed her gratefulness to WWE for giving her such a landmark opportunity. She said,

“I get into WWE thinking my dream came true and I got fired after two years, so I literally quit wrestling. I will always be grateful for winning the WWE Women’s Championship on my first night. I’m grateful. But, at the same time, when you fight for something for so long and work so hard and having that first Knockouts Championship, that really showed me that’s such a sweeter moment when you fight for it.”
