In a recent conversation with “The Ariel Helwani Show”, famed wrestler Gable Steveson expressed his desire to maintain a possibility of potentially venturing back into the professional wrestling scene.
Earlier this year, he experienced a change in course as he got parted away from WWE. Steveson is now setting himself up for a return to the university wrestling circuit in the coming season.
Here are some notable insights from the podcast discussion:
Discussing his WWE journey, Steveson shared, “No. I don’t have any regrets. Taking that route was not something I regret. I even don’t regret my time spent playing for the Buffalo Bills. I have gathered so many enriching experiences that I believe this journey was a lesson to better know and understand the business, so when I make a return, I approach it more effectively.”
When he was asked about his feelings regarding the closure of his WWE journey, he expressed, “Indeed there is disappointment. I feel I had so much more to offer to the business and I could have had a prolonged career. But as I noted earlier, business continues at its pace and stops for no one, and that remains true even if I am an Olympic champion. But I am fine with it. I am excited to compete in college wrestling once again, hitting the reset button and striving to regain my past form.”
On the topic of his return to professional wrestling, Steveson stated, “No, I would love to keep the option alive, if it’s feasible. I believe in keeping my options open in everything I do. If one attempt doesn’t work out, maybe a second try might. Life is about seizing opportunities, and should a great opportunity arise in the future, I’d definitely grab it.”
