TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has recently made her debut on WWE NXT TV. It has been announced that she will be competing against NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at the NXT Battleground 2024 pay-per-view event.
Insights into Grace’s status within the company, as well as possible future collaborations between TNA and WWE, have been shared by Pwinsider.
The pact facilitating this crossover between TNA and WWE was intense and covert, with only a select handful of people, notably TNA President Anthony Cicione and Executive Producer Ariel Shnerer, directly involved. Such was the level of secrecy surrounding this deal that most of the TNA personnel remained entirely unaware. Consequently, the current week’s episode of Impact was subject to last-minute editing to incorporate a recap of Grace’s NXT debut.
In a bid to avoid any leaks, NXT rehearsals involved subtle masking practices. Alexa Bliss was featured on the segment with Roxanne Perez in the run sheet, and further measures such as playing Lita’s theme music were taken. Some WWE insiders disclosed that it was only at Grace’s appearance that Roxanne Perez became aware of her competitor.
Emerging signs suggest that NXT may make an appearance at TNA Against All Odds in Chicago, where Grace will be extending an open challenge for the TNA Knockouts title. Further involvement by NXT may take place at Slammiversary in Montreal. TNA is hopeful that these collaborative projects with NXT will lead to a boost in ticket sales.
It’s worthy of mention that Jordynne Grace’s contract with TNA is set to expire in the early part of 2025.
