“Our goal is to continue being the greatest tag team of all time, but there comes a time when your body physically, you start to break down a bit. I don’t want to say we’re breaking down, but there’s going to come a time where we cannot perform at the level we are now. So I think, for me at least, our goal is to continue to help build AEW, to continue to help build with the young guys that we have as the base of AEW and continue to push that youth movement that we need to carry our legacy.

“We could sit here and take over all the airwaves, all of the TV time, and all of the tag team matches and championships, we could, but in five, six, seven, ten years, we’re going to be gone, and who’s gonna take over? So that’s our goal, that’s my goal now is to continue to help build that future of AEW, continue to help make it competition for WWE, but all the while, of course I’d like to make a whole bunch of money and win some championships.”

While Wheeler admitted that Dax’s answers covered what he was going to say, he also had some ideas for the future of his own. He said,

“I still want to do those things for us, but I want to focus on helping the next generation of young tag teams. I really want to focus on building up Collision, I want to focus on building up AEW as a whole. Anything we can do to help bring eyes to Saturday Nights, I want to do. Anything we can do to help bring eyes to AEW.”

FTR’s most recent reign as AEW World Tag Team Champions ended in October of last year when the pair lost the gold to current champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill.

FTR, the two-time former AEW World Tag Team Champions, have expressed their plans to help elevate the tag-team division of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and the wrestling industry as a whole. In a recent interview on the “WAVY-TV 10” podcast, FTR members Dax and Wheeler discussed their goals for the future and their desire to contribute to the growth of AEW.

Dax emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation for the future of AEW. While they strive to be recognized as the greatest tag team of all time, they also acknowledge that their bodies will eventually limit their physical performance. Therefore, their primary goal is to support and mentor the younger talent in AEW, ensuring that the legacy of the tag team division continues even after they retire.

He explained, “We could dominate the airwaves and win all the championships, but in the long run, we won’t be around forever. We want to ensure that AEW has a strong youth movement that can carry our legacy and compete with WWE. Of course, we also want to make money and win championships along the way.”

Wheeler echoed Dax’s sentiments and expressed his desire to focus on helping the next generation of young tag teams. He emphasized his commitment to building up Collision, an event within AEW, as well as the promotion as a whole. Wheeler wants to do everything possible to attract more viewers to AEW and create opportunities for emerging talent.

In conclusion, FTR’s goal is not only to be recognized as the greatest tag team of all time but also to help build the future of AEW. They aim to support and mentor young talent, promote the growth of AEW, and create opportunities for emerging tag teams. By doing so, FTR hopes to establish AEW as a strong competitor to WWE and leave a lasting legacy in the wrestling industry.
