Tag team wrestling is a major part of All Elite Wrestling, and that’s exactly one of the reasons FTR found a new home with the promotion.

Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR recently appeared on Rasslin’ with Brandon Walker of Barstool Sports and the pair admitted that they bet on themselves when they signed with AEW. The current AAA Tag Team Champions would delve into why they believe why they’re doing exactly what they set out to do in leaving a legacy in the illustrious history of tag team wrestling.

“This is what we begged for, for years and years and years and that’s why ultimately, I think, that we bet on ourselves because this is what we wanted,” Wheeler commented. “We wanted to be surrounded by great tag teams, to be able to leave a legacy, have great, great matches and put tag team wrestling back on the map, that’s kind of what we wanted to do and I feel like we’re doing that.”

“It’s been a year and a half and we’ve had matches that I loved and some of my favorites that we’ve ever done, the Sting and Darby [Allin] stuff, the Young Bucks stuff and there’s still so much left that we can do here,” admitted Harwood. “There’s Private Party, who’s a team that we think have a ton of potential and we want to work with in a long program. The same thing with Top Flight when Darius [Martin] returns, they’re so young but they’re so good. Those are the guys we want to work with, we’re not done yet with Proud and Powerful, we’re one and one with those guys, we split that and ya know, they split this [points to his forearm]. So, there’s so much that we want to do, we want to run it back with the Young Bucks.”

FTR also spoke about their feud with The Briscoes, noting how the current ROH Tag Team Champions think swearing with get them over, but it shows a lack of creativity. Read more about the potential match between the two teams at this link.
