Former WWE creative staff and Hollywood actor, Freddie Prinze Jr., has shared an update about the establishment of his new wrestling promotion.

Prinze Jr. has been in discussion with different TV networks since 2021 regarding the launch of his wrestling promotion. However, progress has been slow thus far.

In the recent episode of his podcast “Wrestling with Freddie”, Prinze Jr. provided an encouraging status check. He was quoted saying,

“I’ve given as much information as possible about my progress in starting my own wrestling promotion. I’m nearer to the end goal than the commencement point, and I’m more likely to get a ‘yes’ than a ‘no,’ despite the fact that a ‘no’ is still a possibility which might shatter my dream. If the current approach does not pan out, then it’s off the table for this year, and I’ll need to reassess and find another strategy to try down the line.”

His statements continued, “I’ve got a green light from a favorable source, from the network’s chief, preempting the sentiment of, ‘Oh, yes, it’s a done deal.’ But it’s not quite that simple. They are a branch of a much larger corporation and I need approval for the needed budget from one of their higher-ups in the finance department. If they agree, then I’m all set to roll out my wrestling promotion. I’m hoping to get the final word by this week’s end, so probably next week, I’ll announce either a triumph or a setback [laughs]. After this procedure concludes, I’m willing to delve into details about the places I journeyed, my experiences, and specifics about the promotion itself.”

In other news, Roxanne Perez is signaling her aspiration to lead the WWE women’s division, once she gains entry to the main roster. In a conversation with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, she expressed her intent.

“Truly, when I first stepped into WWE, it felt like everyone had the ambition to land a spot on the main roster. Despite being content in NXT, there’s always a longing to ascend to the top platform. From childhood, I dreamt of starring on Raw or SmackDown. Now, as a two-time NXT Women’s Champion, I recognize the joy that comes with being here.”

Perez further noted, “I have visited the main roster. I’ve been part of two Royal Rumbles and appeared on SmackDown and Raw. I’ve sampled a bit of all. I believe I have made an impact and left a good impression. The feeling is positive about getting the call-up, and when that happens, I’m warning, all those girls better gear up. I intend to dominate.”
