As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, WWE released five talents from its roster on Friday (April 19) – Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Veer Mahaan, Sanga, and Xyon Quinn.

Taking to Twitter, Sanga (Saurav Gurjar) commented on his WWE release. He said,

“When it comes to viewership, you want it from India. You want viewership on Facebook from India, the same goes for views on YouTube and television. But, when it comes to talent from India, you’re not encouraging it […] It’s sad, but you need to understand that we come from a land with 1.4 billion people, and they like you and us, and they want talented athletes from their home country to be represented and work on an international level […] It hurts when I hear this or think about it, but your company doesn’t have any athletes from India.”

In his video, Sanga heavily criticized WWE for horribly booking Indian talent and burying them throughout the years.

The 38-year-old wrestler further noted that he, Jinder, and Veer will do whatever it takes to uphold the pride of their nation, even if that means walking away from a company that doesn’t value Indian athletes.

Finally, Sanga expressed his confidence that the vast population of 1.4 billion people stands behind him and emphasized that they will work together to capitalize on future opportunities.

Sanga also wrote in the caption, “We are all always positive, and we expect everyone to be super positive🙏😊 Jai Hind 🇮🇳 #proudtobeindian #thankyou”

Sanga signed with WWE in 2018 and later debuted on the NXT brand.

WWE Wrestler Sanga Criticizes Company for Lack of Indian Talent Representation

In a recent Twitter post, WWE wrestler Sanga (Saurav Gurjar) expressed his disappointment with the company’s treatment of Indian talent. Sanga was one of five wrestlers released from the WWE roster on April 19, along with Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Veer Mahaan, and Xyon Quinn.

Sanga, who signed with WWE in 2018 and debuted on the NXT brand, voiced his concerns about the lack of support for Indian athletes within the company. He highlighted the importance of viewership from India on platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and television but criticized WWE for not encouraging and promoting talent from India.

The 38-year-old wrestler went on to criticize WWE’s booking of Indian talent, claiming that they were often buried and not given the opportunities they deserved. Sanga expressed his commitment to upholding the pride of his nation and stated that he, Jinder Mahal, and Veer Mahaan would do whatever it takes to represent Indian athletes, even if it means walking away from a company that doesn’t value them.

Sanga’s tweet garnered attention from fans and fellow wrestlers alike. He expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and emphasized the importance of staying positive. Sanga believes that the vast population of 1.4 billion people in India stands behind him and is confident that they will work together to capitalize on future opportunities.

The release of these five wrestlers has sparked discussions about diversity and representation within the WWE. Critics argue that the company should do more to promote talent from different backgrounds and cultures, including India.

As the wrestling industry continues to evolve, it is crucial for companies like WWE to recognize the importance of diversity and representation. The global reach of professional wrestling provides an opportunity to showcase talent from various countries and cultures, attracting a wider audience and fostering inclusivity.

Sanga’s comments have shed light on the challenges faced by Indian wrestlers in the industry. It remains to be seen how WWE will respond to these criticisms and whether they will take steps to address the concerns raised by Sanga and others.

In the meantime, Sanga and his fellow released wrestlers are determined to forge their own paths and continue representing their nation with pride. Their departure from WWE may open doors for them in other promotions that value and appreciate their talent.

Fans and supporters of Sanga and Indian wrestling will undoubtedly be watching closely as these talented athletes navigate their futures and strive to make a lasting impact on the industry.
