An AEW superstar, who was previously injured, has now received the green light for a return to the wrestling ring.
Sammy Guevara, the wrestler in question, experienced a horrifying incident while participating in the ROH TV tapings. Seemingly knocked unconscious during his match with Serpentico, Guevara’s situation appeared dire.
During a pivotal moment in the match, Serpentico tried and failed to execute a cutter, in response to a top-rope maneuver by Guevara. This miscalculation resulted in Serpentico landing on Guevara’s head. Consequently, the match was abruptly suspended and victory was awarded to Serpentico. The serious-sounding aftermath of the mishap featured Guevara being taken from the ring on a stretcher.
Initially, speculation suggested Guevara had endured a concussion. However, a subsequent report from PWTorch revealed Guevara was spotted on his feet, just a while after the examination. The report further states, from his appearance, it was hard to guess that earlier he had been stretchered off.
The former TNT Champion was unable to compete for several weeks, following the incident. However, recent reports from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggest Guevara has received medical clearance to get back into wrestling action.
As of now, the exact timeline for his return to action on AEW TV remains unclear.
