Former CMLL star Jose Luis Alvarado Nieves, also known as Super Porky and Brazo de Plata, has passed away. Mas Lucha confirmed the news of the 58-year-old’s passing during their show on Monday.

Nieves had a lengthy career in the wrestling world, dating back to his debut in 1977. He also had a brief stint in WWE as a member of its Juniors division; he signed with the company in 2005, but he was released the following year.

He is a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, and he also held the CMLL World Trios Championship. Nieves hasn’t wrestled since 2016. He is part of the prestigious Alvarado family, which includes notable names like AAA star Psycho Clown.

CMLL and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) both posted tweets in response to the news.
