The marital bond between Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev has allegedly experienced turbulence for quite some time.
In a recent incident, eWn reported that Chigvintsev faced arrest on grounds of felony domestic violence ensuing from a dispute with his wife on Thursday.
An account discovered in TMZ points out that the couple’s relationship has long been unstable, an open secret amongst their acquaintances. One insider remarked about Artem’s arrest – “Shocking but not shocking.”
Earlier, a radio dispatch recording revealed that Artem dialed 911 when Nikki hurled a pair of shoes at him, an event witnessed by a child. Initially, Artem sought medical aid, but afterwards he placed a second call to declare that it was no longer required.
Close friends of the couple reveal that Nikki and Artem have had prior verbal disputes; however, this is reportedly the first time a physical altercation has been reported.
Sources suggest that these verbal incidents, and possibly unreported physical altercations, arise from ongoing battles for domination and a pattern of belittlement.
Rewinding to last year, Nikki revealed that she had sought couples therapy with Artem due to his manner of speaking towards her.
At present, it has been reported that Artem is not residing at their Napa Valley residence and Nikki is currently caring for their 4-year-old son Mateo.
