Finn Balor was set to take part in a match against Velveteen Dream during this week’s episode of NXT, but was forced to pull out after something occurred backstage. Taking to Twitter, Balor and William Regal reacted to the event, hinting at some sort of backstage assault.
On his own Twitter, Balor quoted the initial NXT tweet informing the world that an “incident” had occurred. Balor didn’t give up too much information, but did make constant references to “snakes” that were in the grass, the locker room, and that they had “slithered for the last time.”

As for Regal, he said that he was still looking into the events that had transpired, and that Balor was indeed attacked before leaving the premises. According to Regal, though, Balor received medical attention, but is currently doing fine. It’s highly likely that we’ll get more information this coming week, as Balor will no doubt want to address things in the ring.
Still looking into the events that transpired before #WWENXT on Wednesday evening.
I can confirm that @FinnBalor was attacked and left the premises. He’s received medical attention but is fine. @WWENXT
