Finn Balor, WWE World Tag Team Champion, recently discussed the renewal of his five-year contract with WWE during a “What’s The Story” interview.

Balor took his initial steps into the WWE scene in November 2014, as a member of the NXT ensemble.

Below are some key takeaways from the podcast interview:

Regarding his contract extension, Balor elaborated, “Indeed, it’s a renewal for five more years. I’m genuinely thrilled. One can never predict. I recall contemplating at 20, ‘If I manage to stay in this industry till 30, I’d consider it a success.’ Here I am, in my 40s pondering, ‘Goodness, do they wish for me to continue this endeavour? Am I competent enough to persist? How will my physical health hold up?’ After multiple discussions, we concurred mutually. My desire was to continue, they wished the same for me. A series of conversations later, we came to an agreement and I couldn’t be more satisfied.”

On musing about his WWE trajectory, Balor observed, “It has indeed been an uncanny journey. A countdown to the last six months of my contract, questioning whether my time was coming to an end, pondering if I should seek out new horizons. A gigantic leap, completing a decade. My stint in England lasted for six years, where I perceived, ‘No matter where I go next, England will mark the most significant stage of my career.’ Followed by an eight-year chapter in Japan, reassuring myself, ‘An eight-year tenure in Japan indicates the focal part of my career.’ When it was time to navigate onto WWE, I had a tingling curiosity anticipating a short stay of two or three years before returning home to Ireland or Japan. I’ve been with WWE for a full decade with another half a decade lined up, hoping with fingers crossed not to be let go. It’s been a considerably thrilling voyage thus far.”
