Finn Balor made it his mission to show that his ambush at the hands of Imperium was nothing more than a fluke, and he did just that during tonight’s episode of NXT. In a match against Fabian Aichner, Balor came out on top, taking a huge step in his path to eventually facing Walter in the ring.

While Aichner told Balor that if he wanted to face Walter, he’d have to go through him, Balor had no problem doing so. Check out below for a brief recap from the match:
Bálor and Aichner trade headlock, submission holds, and pin attempts. Aichner tosses Bálor across the ring. Barthel distracts Bálor so Aichner can attack. Aichner sunset flips Bálor but Bálor rolls through and dropkicks Aichner in the face. Bálor tries a leapfrog but Aichner catches him on his shoulders. Bálor escapes and hits the final cut. Aichner rolls out of the ring. Bálor lands a suicide dive.
Things came to an end for Aichner after attempting to land a moonsault off the top rope onto Balor. Balor was able to evade the attack, and quickly landed a Coup de Grace on a dazed Aichner. From there, Balor landed a 1916, which ended the match.
