Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has announced its intention to hold a 20-man Gauntlet Match for the title of new Canadian Champion. The event, dubbed MLP Northern Rising, is slated to take place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens) on May 10th and will be streamed live on TrillerTV. Wrestlers taking part in the gauntlet match have yet to be disclosed.
A memorable moment in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling history was on March 8, 1979, when Greg Valentine, son of Maple Leaf veteran Johnny Valentine, ended Dino Bravo’s initial reign as Canadian Heavyweight Champion. Valentine lost the title back to Bravo after holding it for 56 days.
Meanwhile, Pro Wrestling NOAH has revealed a key match for the GHC Heavyweight Championship at NOAH Memorial Voyage 2025. Former titleholder KENTA will be up against reigning champion OZAWA for the title on May 5, 2025.
Elsewhere, the National Wrestling Alliance is getting ready for the NWA Hard Times V event, which is taking place tonight at the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, Alabama. The line-up includes:
