In 2024, Trey Bearhill, a prominent figure in WWE NXT, was relieved of his duties. This was a part of multiple layoffs executed within both WWE’s main lineup and the development brand.
Recently on the podcast “Developmentally Speaking,” Bearhill discussed his exit from the wrestling arena. He confessed that he wasn’t shocked when he received the unfortunate news. He said,
“Now, this is the thing for me, like, I always anticipated…I wasn’t particularly surprised in the sense that any day could be the last.”
“Before the first round of releases, I was aware that some names who appeared on TV were gone. So, I realized quickly that this isn’t a lifetime thing unless — in their perspective — you maintain the desired condition… It was slightly startling.”
Bearhill mentioned that he has found a new career in vehicle sales, yet he is not ready to completely let go of his passion for professional wrestling.
The wrestling ring saw Bearhill for the last time on March 2, 2024, when he faced defeat against Tavion Heights at an NXT live event in Jacksonville, Florida.
