During her recent conversation on the “Ring The Belle with DS Shin” podcast, Eva Marie expressed her initial shock and confusion over her 2016 Wellness Policy suspension from WWE. She stated that because her character was continually avoiding wrestling matches, she believed the suspension was merely a dramatic aspect of the storyline. The reality of her situation sunk in when she was excluded from a scheduled SummerSlam match and replaced by Nikki Bella, leading her to question whether it was a genuine punishment or a scripted conflict.
Here’s what Eva had to say, “To this day, it still baffles me. I mean, WWE allowed me to voice my side of the story which was clearly documented by my doctor. So I initially thought it was a gimmick. That incident really shattered me. I wouldn’t wish such an experience upon anyone. I had just made a comeback and was looking forward to a high-profile match. It was like my big return. But then all this happened and I was sent back home to the West. The whole thing was so nightmarish. And what surprised me further was seeing Nikki replacing me. So I was like, is this a part of the storyline? It still doesn’t feel real.”
In other news, following successful shows like Clash At The Castle and Money In The Bank in London, Triple H has announced that WWE has plans to host another major event in the United Kingdom sometime in the next year.
During a European tour which included stops in places like Glasgow and London, Triple H reassured fans that WWE will return to the UK soon for yet another grand event.
A tweet from Alex McCarthy revealed Triple H’s plans, “When I asked Triple H about the UK hosting a PLE in the next year or so: ‘Oh yeah, for sure.’ He also mentioned India as a market that will soon have access to WWE content via Netflix and a place he’d love to visit.”
