Ethan Page has expressed a desire to have a rematch with CM Punk in the near future. During this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Punk was the guest referee for Page’s title defence against Trick Williams. After Williams emerged victorious, Punk attacked Page with the Go 2 Sleep move.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the ex-AEW and former NXT World Champion, Page, expressed his longing to compete with Punk again and shared his experience of interacting with Punk.
Page shared his thoughts on verbally squaring off against Punk: “When I see CM Punk, I want to hand him a microphone instantly. The same applies to myself. The opportunity to do that, I think, aligns with WWE’s thought process of enabling us to express ourselves. We have to observe the outcome.”
On the prospect of facing Punk again, Page stated: “The dynamic between Ethan Page and CM Punk is intriguing and what they could achieve together. However, on October 1, they are playing different roles, one as a referee and the other as a defending champion. If CM Punk chooses to dominate the show in Chicago, as usual, I will gladly allow him, as more eyeballs on Ethan Page would imply stealing more limelight from CM Punk’s attempts to reclaim his glory in his hometown, probably for the 30th time now.”
