This week on WWE NXT, an intense promo from Ethan Page revealed a more deeply emotional and darker facet of his character.
During this week’s episode, Page unleashed his discontentment resulting from his recent losses, both on the wrestling canvas and in his personal life. He drew parallels to the renowned “lost my smile” plot from Shawn Michaels’ wrestling legacy, discussing his own dwindling motivation and joy.
Je’Von Evans approached the ring aiming to lend emotional support to Page and assure him that his efforts were appreciated by the NXT Universe. Evans further advised Page to set aside his “All Ego” persona and candidly show the fans his true identity. However, Page reacted with aggression.
This resulted in a fierce attack unleashed by Page on Evans, where he wrapped a steel chair around Evans’ neck and stomped on it ruthlessly. The segment concluded with Evans laying in a pool of his own blood.
The following are some highlights from the segment:
In further events on this week’s episode of WWE NXT, The Unholy Union were featured in a backstage segment that involved Fatal Influence.
Fatal Influence was found ridiculing Gigi Dolin, Shotzi, and Tatum Paxley when Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn intervened. They criticized Fatal Influence and emphasized that while the babyfaces (Dolin, Shotzi, and Paxley) were exhibiting unity, Fatal Influence was doing just the opposite.
The hostility between Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe further intensified during this week’s episode of WWE NXT.
After suffering a defeat against Hank & Tank in the previous week’s episode due to Igwe declining a handshake, the conflict regarding the understanding of “sportsmanship” between DuPont and Igwe persisted. Wes Lee concurred with Igwe’s rejection of the handshake and hinted that friends might be overrated.
