In a recent episode of his podcast “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, Matt shared the story about Ethan Page seeking his approval to incorporate the Twist of Fate into his WWE performance. He reminisced,
“He reached out to me that very day, simply out of courtesy like ‘Hey, I have an idea of executing this and perhaps incorporating the Twist in my match.’ I replied, ‘Sure, absolutely. Feel free. I am totally on board with you using it.’
“Ultimately, If anybody else tries it and isn’t successful, then it just highlights that I perform it better. It always turns out to be in my favour. I was completely okay with it and I send him my best wishes.”
In his recent fight for the NXT North American Championship, Page included the iconic Hardy Boyz move. The match, against Tony D’Angelo, was won by The Don.
During the podcast, Hardy conveyed his immense admiration for Page, elated for him “achieving his dream” in the WWE, especially as “numerous people” had been skeptical about him in AEW.
Page made his WWE debut earlier this year and set a new record for the fastest ascent from debut to NXT Champion, earning the title in a span of merely 40 days.
Hardy too left AEW this year and rejoined TNA Wrestling, where he and Jeff currently hold the esteemed TNA World Tag Team Championships.
