In a recent discussion on “Undisputed,” Eric Bischoff, ex-WCW President, confessed that he had no knowledge of his presence in the Netflix documentary series “Mr. McMahon,” since he received no invitation to participate.
The key points from Eric Bischoff’s interview are presented below:
Discussing his non-inclusion in Netflix’s “Mr. McMahon” project, Bischoff stated, “I was not informed. Astonishing, right? I received no invitation to contribute to that Netflix project. They never even made a single phone call. According to the original contract with WWE, Netflix had access to a myriad of other video materials. This included access to footage that I had taken from other projects. Most of what was shown in the Vince series came from an interview I carried out on the NWO, content that perfectly complemented what they needed for their project. I wasn’t compensated, no one bothered to ask me if I minded, and no appreciation was expressed. Nonetheless, it doesn’t anger me. Instead, I feel grateful and am genuinely pleased with how things turned out. It has been quite beneficial. It seems like they thought that what they had on hand was more than adequate. I have no complaints as I mentioned earlier, in fact, I am thankful.”
Concerning McMahon’s launch of a new entertainment group, Bischoff commented, “Vince thinks differently. This new venture is driven by his pride, and out-of-control ego, and it seems like we’re witnessing traces of Vince trying to assert control. Despite being a control freak, it appears he’s in a situation where he’s not fully in control. I get the sense that he’s somehow desperate. With enough money to last several lifetimes, why not buy a yacht and sail through the Caribbean, contribute to charities, and work on your tan? But that’s just not who Vince is.”
Talking about his engagement with MLW, Bischoff said, “My involvement with MLW was very spontaneous. The interesting part is that Court Bauer’s very proficient team and himself did not want me to play the villainous General Manager role, which was exactly what I didn’t want either. We’ve watched that before, so we have decided on a different approach. My influence will be clearly visible in the show’s production, especially during the building of suspense before the main event and during backstage interviews. I am really eager to make it happen. Making the show visually appealing and presenting their product in a unique way is nothing short of fun.”
