WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff had quite a few things to say in the recent episode of his podcast, “83 Weeks”, about the jaw-dropping turn of events during WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto this past weekend. Specifically, he shared his thoughts on John Cena’s unexpected turn against Cody Rhodes.

We’ve collated some noteworthy excerpts from the podcast for you:

Speaking on John Cena’s transition towards a villainous character, Bischoff said, “Indeed, his narrative seems more captivating. I’m quite eager myself to see John transition into a heel, owing to his remarkable acting abilities. He’s got solid acting experience from Hollywood, where he’s interacted with renowned actors and directors. Regardless of opinions about the types of films he stars in, the important part is they’re financially successful and he continues to be a part of them. His ability to convey emotions and manifest a believable character in his acting career will definitely influence his new persona as a heel in wrestling. I’m genuinely thrilled to see him take on this role.”

Later, Bischoff opened up about his feelings concerning Cody Rhodes’ usage of explicit verbiage during his Elimination Chamber promotional stint. He admitted, “Two years ago, I would’ve said such language wasn’t suitable for his character and uncalled for. However, in the past year, I’ve noticed that expletives are becoming a part of the norm. It doesn’t matter if you’re a politician or sports commentator; F-bombs are not as shocking as they once were. It’s almost as if people are trying to modernize their language and appear more trendy. Hence, I’ve grown quite apathetic towards this, which is unusual as I used to be sensitive about such things. I think in a few years, this sort of language will be just as regular part of conversation, sans the ‘There are children watching this!’ outrage. That ship sailed long ago.”
