In a recent episode of the “83 Weeks” podcast, Eric Bischoff covered a range of topics, including WWE NXT’s success against AEW Dynamite in ratings at the 2300 Arena, Vince McMahon’s breakfast interaction with TKO President Mark Shapiro, and more.
Here are some of the key highlights from the podcast episode:
When discussing Vince McMahon’s breakfast meeting with Mark Shapiro, Bischoff said, “We’re certain Vince isn’t planning on selling. It’s no shock that Vince maintained a pleasant demeanor and acted entirely professionally in Shapiro’s description. That’s just Vince’s nature. He’s an ultimate professional. Even if he might have felt like wringing Shapiro’s neck, the only one who would know would be Vince himself. He wouldn’t let it show.”
Bischoff added, “It’s fair to take the interaction at face value. I really hope everything is just as it appears. I hope Vince is taking it easy. Not in the sense of getting lazy, but in terms of loosening a bit, being able to concentrate on the things that matter. Prioritizing to deal with this litigation must be on his list. Once that’s done, we’ll truly see what Vince is planning and where he intends to take things. Considering the situation, I’d say he’s handling it well.”
In regards to WWE NXT’s ratings success at the ECW Arena outperforming AEW Dynamite, Bischoff stated, “I wasn’t startled by the ratings at all. NXT is currently the more popular brand, it’s as simple as that. Hence, the ratings outcome didn’t come as a surprise to me. I didn’t know much about the creative aspect of it beforehand, and since I was travelling to Los Angeles on Wednesday, I didn’t get a chance to watch it. But I’ve heard quite a bit about it, read numerous reviews. Kudos to NXT.”
