WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff believes that there will be cuts to WWE and UFC following the Endeavor deal, but that the latter will be affected more.
This month saw Vince McMahon sign the deal for WWE to be acquired by Endeavor, with the process expected to be finalized later this year.
During his “83 Weeks Podcast,” Bischoff explained why he believes UFC will be hit harder by the rumored cuts. He said,
“Will there be cost cuts? Of course there will, because there’s a lot of duplication… I suspect that there’ll be more layoffs … within UFC than there probably will be in WWE. I say that because WWE is a very sophisticated, mature business compared to UFC.”
Later on in the show, Bischoff doubled down on his prediction by saying,
“I think the majority of them [the cuts] are going to come on the UFC side as opposed to the WWE side. I’d be more concerned if I was working for UFC right now, than if I was working for WWE.”
Endeavor President Mark Shapiro has said that “synchronicity“ between WWE & UFC will a priority during the early stages of the WWE-Endeavor deal.
