WWE Hall of Fame member, Eric Bischoff, has conveyed his admiration for WWE’s recent display, which in his eyes, mirrors the creative brilliance of iconic director, Steven Spielberg.
Straying from the conventional path laid by Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, WWE in the year 2024 has embraced unique ways of presentation which differs from its earlier approach.
In a recent episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff discussed the Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood with great commendation. He voiced:
“Drew is unbelievable. The drama, the pacing, it just permitted you to feel what he was feeling, or trying to portray. He did it so excellently, you effortlessly get drawn into the drama.
Often people mention the story in the match, and because of social media, ‘story’ signifies numerous things to different individuals. However, the story, the drama, can all be summarizes into one word: emotion. It energizes me to witness an evolution in the method of presentation and I’m viewing Spielberg-level stuff happening right below our collective noses.”
Bischoff continued by mentioning how aptly timed the use of ‘blood’ in the match felt, as it seemed “natural” and the wrestlers “gigged” themselves proficiently.
The Hall of Famer further lauded the video promos for the Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley match at Bad Blood 2024, stating, “When you start to observe the film type of production in wrestling, you get the sense that wrestling is on the brink of a completely fresh level.”
Bischoff was not the only one captivated by the Hell in a Cell match. Reports reveal that several individuals associated with WWE were equally ecstatic about the match, as they sensed it rekindled a threat level akin to older matches.
