On a recent episode of his podcast, “83 Weeks”, Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts concerning Bobby Lashley’s debut on AEW during Fright Night Dynamite last week.
Below are some of the key points that were discussed in the show:
When discussing Bobby Lashley’s introduction to AEW, he excitedly stated, “His physical prowess is just unparalleled – and quite rare honestly. As I mentioned earlier, he embodies intensity, and his strength is remarkable. He’s capable of tremendous things, and astonishingly, he’s never been injured. And it isn’t just his physical capabilities – he’s sharp and his wrestling skills are exceptional. Moreover, he’s driven. Contrary to what one might assume given his long career, he’s not just riding this out, or seeking one last triumph. No, that’s not who he is at all. Bobby is passionate about his career and still has the hunger to push forward. His commitment is energizing to see. I just hope Tony makes the right moves.”
Discussing the inclusion of WCW on the internet in the latter part of 1995, Bischoff revealed, “My involvement was minimal at best – the internet was still such a nascent thing at the time. I think the responsibility probably fell under the purview of marketing, maybe Mike Webber. Or possibly the PR department. It’s hard to remember exactly because it was such a new concept at the time and honestly, we were a bit behind in figuring out its potential.”
