Eric Bischoff believes that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) owes a greater debt of gratitude to WWE than it currently displays. AEW has frequently criticized WWE and its match arranging tactics, such as when Will Ospreay’s comments about Triple H earlier this year caused a stir.
In the previous year, Tony Khan, AEW’s president, branded Triple H and Shawn Michaels as “bald aholes” ahead of WWE NXT prevailing over AEW Dynamite in the ‘Tuesday Night War.’
During an episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff suggested AEW should use this moment to pay respect to the more distinguished and seasoned promotion, expressing,
“The product [of AEW] is not developed yet. The brand has yet to be developed. Until they stop losing audience, I wouldn’t try to make any comparisons at all to WWE. If I was Tony Khan right now, I would be putting WWE over and thanking them for being the catalyst for so much growth in the wrestling space.”
“Literally I’d be putting them over and endearing myself to their fans, as opposed to challenging them to try my product and perhaps hope that you’ll find it a better product, they’re just not ready for that yet.”
