In a recent episode of the podcast “Developmentally Speaking”, legendary wrestling personality and WWE Hall of Famer, Eric Bischoff shared his perspectives on why wrestler Ernest ‘The Cat’ Miller did not rise to greater prominence in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Here are the notable parts from his talk:

Regarding Ernest Miller, Bischoff shared: “If Ernest had stepped into the scene two or three years prior, I fully believe he could have established himself as one of the leading stars in WCW by ’97 or ’98. However, when Ernest finally made his presence felt, WCW was unfortunately on a downward spiral and was dealing with quite a few problems, a fact that is well-known and began around ’99. This was about the time Ernest was truly coming into his unique brand of wrestling.”

Speaking on the timing of Miller’s peak, he elaborated: “Having numerous matches under his belt and acclimating well to television exposure, Ernest’s persona was blooming. He peaked around ’99, which, regretfully, was perhaps the worst period to stand out in WCW, given the business was in decline.”

The podcast also included a vast range of other topics, which can be viewed in the blog’s embedded video content.
