“Harder one to get a feel for. I did work with him quite a bit for the short period of time I was in WWE. We talked pretty regularly and talked about his character and ways to improve and take different approaches to things. I just got the impression that he was committed and a very talented guy. He wasn’t afraid to go out and try things that were new. I just don’t know what his ambition is. He’s not young, at some point in time, you reach a certain age in your late thirties or early forties that you’ve got to kind of make up your mind whether you’re going to pursue this line of work for the next twenty years, or maybe you’re still young enough, shift gears and do something else while you’re still young enough to do it.

I think for someone like Elias, in his age group, I think that discussion is more internal than external — external meaning, I wonder if Tony Khan is interested in me, I wonder if I could go to IMPACT or whatever, I wonder if I can make a couple hundred grand on the indie scene for the next couple of years. That’s a great conversation to have with yourself when you’re in your early twenties or thirties, it’s a little bit more uncomfortable if you’re in your late thirties, early forties.”

Former WWE executive Eric Bischoff recently discussed the release of wrestler Elias during an episode of his podcast, Strictly Business. Bischoff expressed his admiration for Elias’ talent but also questioned the wrestler’s future ambitions.

Bischoff acknowledged that he had worked closely with Elias during his time in WWE and had regular conversations about his character and ways to improve. He described Elias as a committed and talented individual who was not afraid to try new things. However, Bischoff raised concerns about Elias’ age and the need for him to make a decision about his future in the wrestling industry.

According to Bischoff, individuals in their late thirties or early forties reach a point where they must decide whether they will continue pursuing a career in wrestling for the next twenty years or explore other opportunities while they are still relatively young. He suggested that this internal discussion is more important for someone like Elias, who falls into this age group.

Bischoff also mentioned the potential external factors that Elias might consider, such as interest from other wrestling promotions like AEW or IMPACT, or the possibility of making money on the independent wrestling scene. However, he emphasized that these considerations should be secondary to Elias’ own personal reflection on his future goals.

The release of Elias from WWE has sparked speculation about his next move in the wrestling industry. Fans and analysts are curious to see if he will join another major promotion or explore different avenues outside of wrestling. Bischoff’s comments shed light on the challenges and decisions that wrestlers face as they navigate their careers and consider their long-term prospects.
