Eric Bischoff may be consistently impressed by Cody Rhodes but believes the American Nightmare’s involvement with this week’s NXT was somewhat underwhelming.

During his “Strictly Business” podcast, Bischoff discussed Rhodes’ work on the show. He said,

“I was a little disappointed in the Cody Rhodes segment. Cody does an amazing job, Cody Rhodes is in a class all of his own. Totally, getting better by the minute, but it wasn’t enough to really make me want to stick around for the main event. I mean, obviously, I did for other reasons, but it was a seven on what could have been a ten. In terms of what that segment should have and would have been designed to do. Abouslely, nothing wrong with it, but it — they left a lot on the table.”

Bischoff’s co-host added that Rhodes’ role on NXT was a cameo for the sake of a cameo, which Bischoff agreed with.

WWE NXT would score 921,000 viewers, the third-highest viewership for the gold brand, and comfortably beat AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.

Cody Rhodes’ Involvement in NXT: An Underwhelming Segment?

This week’s episode of NXT saw the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and Men’s Breakout Tournament, with Cody Rhodes serving as the guest General Manager for the night. Despite the mixed reviews of Rhodes’ involvement, NXT had a successful night in terms of viewership. The show scored 921,000 viewers, making it the third-highest viewership for the brand. It also comfortably beat AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday in the ratings.
