Eric Bischoff has candidly shared about his experiences of feeling like a fraud during his tenure as the head of WCW.
In a fresh episode of the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, Bischoff, the erstwhile WCW President, expressed his belief that he was undeserving of his high-ranking position within the company. He candidly remarked,
“I had never come across the term imposter syndrome at that time, yet I could have authored a book on it. My everyday experience involved questioning my suitability for the role. I used to wonder ‘why am I in this role? What am I supposed to do? How can I succeed in this job?’ However, fortuitously, I had a supportive team composed of highly talented individuals on whom I could rely. They possessed a wealth of experience that far exceeded mine in several areas. I could learn from them and, as I always mention, learn while I was on the job.”
Bischoff continued, “I must admit, I did taste significant success and faced some humiliating failures. But, as long as we gain wisdom from our mistakes, it’s all part of the journey.”
Bischoff first stepped into an executive role at WCW in 1993 and subsequently helmed the company from 1994 to 1999.
