Eric Bischoff believes it is just a matter of time before AEW Collision is ‘killed’ in the fight for viewers by College Football.
Speaking on his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff spoke about AEW’s ratings and predicts a downturn once College Football begins. He said,
“They went from 750,000 viewers two weeks ago, or whatever it was, down to a little over 400,000 … because of pre-season football that nobody really gives two s**ts about. If ‘Collision’ is that susceptible to pre-season football, they’re gonna get killed by college [football]. College Football is becoming more and more popular … they’re gonna get crushed.”
Bischoff predicted that Collision will average 300-350,000 viewers a show when the College Football season begins, adding “I definitely think it’s going to hurt them.”
AEW Collision premiered with an impression 816,000 viewers on June 17, which dropped to 452,000 on July 1, before rebounding to 739,000 three weeks later.
The show’s all-time low came on the August 5, episode with 417,000 viewers while the August 12 episode rebounded to 476,000 viewers.
