In a recent interview with “Wrestle Radio Australia,” Buddy Matthews, a wrestler with AEW, commented on the potential dissolution of the House of Black. The highlights from his discussion concerning the matter are as follows:

Regarding the possibility of the House of Black breaking up, Matthews argued that one needs to look beyond the exterior. He acknowledged his less extensive tattoo work compared to the others, but pointed out his attitude and physical contributions to the group. Despite being the smallest member, Matthews sees himself as the backbone of the group. He praised both Malakai, who he said orchestrated the group’s dynamics and tactics, and Brody, who is the group’s power player. He emphasized that they excellently complement each other, making them an exceptional team.

When discussing their achievements, Matthews pointed out that they defeated the Elite, including Kenny and the Bucks. According to him, they were the rightful holders of the trios titles which were specially designed for the Elite team. Although they might undertake solo or paired fights, Matthews firmly denied any plans of disbanding the team.

In a somewhat related topic, EFFY and AEW have been recently clashing, following EFFY’s remarks leading to Ricky Starks’ withdrawal from GCW events. EFFY joined “The Ringer” podcast to clarify that he did not mean his comments to spread wildly or to distance fans from GCW.

Discussing his comments, EFFY admitted that his words can sometimes gain unexpected traction or cause unintended outcomes. He explained his tendency to become candid or speak without considering the impact of his words later. EFFY referred to himself as a “peasant throwing rocks at the castle” when he criticizes WWE or AEW.

EFFY stressed that his words might be harsh or offensive, but he doesn’t intend to hurt anyone. His comments were born out of his observations and experiences as a former business owner and manager of a movie company.

When asked about the potential backlash from his words, EFFY acknowledged that his comments could have been less aggressive. However, he stood by his criticisms and saw the need to be honest and hardworking. He explained that his provocative remarks were mostly drawn from the struggle of trying to make things work and the constant pursuit of innovation in his career.

Touching on the controversy his words might have caused, EFFY affirmed his desire for more coverage for GCW, but he acknowledged that he might not be doing a great PR job if the image presented is that of a “snarky little baby.” He emphasized the need for wrestling fans to be aware of the indie scene’s existence and the cool things happening within it.
