Edge’s trainer and friend, Ron Hutchison, has reportedly informed The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “The Rated R Superstar” will indeed retire on tonight’s show.

At the 2020 Royal Rumble, Edge entered the Men’s Royal Rumble match at #21 to the loudest crowd reaction of the show, competing in his first pro wrestling match after a nine-year retirement.

Edge’s deal with WWE has fetched him $3 million per year. The contract which was signed in 2020 was supposed to expire earlier this year, but WWE added more time after Edge was out with a torn triceps.
