Cody Rhodes’ cheerful demeanor amidst his high-intensity rivalry with John Cena draws criticism from former WWE Superstar, EC3. According to him, the exuberant attitude displayed by Rhodes, ahead of WrestleMania 41, doesn’t align with the seriousness of the feud.
EC3 expressed his views on the “Wrestling Outlaws” podcast. He emphasized that Rhodes needs to adopt a more sobering demeanor considering the circumstances. EC3 opined,
“This is where I find a problem, too. If Vince was in charge, he would ensure that heroes need to have a serious disposition. Who’s overseeing the creative domain now? It’s Triple H, supposedly. You have seasoned wrestlers like John Cena, and Cody Rhodes. They understand the stakes. They have been there, they know the intensity required.
“But then, why is there a gap where Cody is entering the ring with a big smile, offering high fives, and lacking intensity? Is it on his part? Or the fault of the creative team? Because both the creative unit and Triple H should be aware. There should be no smiling. This is after all, the same fight where you got kicked below the belt and left battered and bruised. So, I am left wondering where this relaxed attitude is coming from.”
Despite Cena’s actions, Rhodes continues to enter the ring with his full WWE entrance, including engaging with fans and signing autographs.
The anticipation builds towards WrestleMania 41 (Night Two) on April 20, where Cena and Rhodes will battle it out, with the undisputed WWE Championship held by Rhodes up for grabs.
John Cena has also made a resolution to hang up his boots from WWE as a champion, prompting WWE to devise a ‘symbol’ for talent that doesn’t carry the legacy of the actual WWE title.
