EC3, the wrestling star, expresses a degree of sorrow for fans who are deceived by fraudsters impersonating wrestlers, however, he admits he struggles to feel entirely sympathetic.
It’s a common scam for fraudsters to mislead unsuspecting fans by using the identities and images of famous wrestlers to swindle them out of their money and gift cards. It has been noted that one of the most frequently used images is of Alexa Bliss.
In a recent episode of the ‘Wrestling Outlaws’ podcast, EC3 opened up about his feelings towards fans who fall to such scams. He was quoted as saying,
“If someone is naive enough to offer you money, then accept it because if you don’t, somebody else will. It’s a pity that people are conned out of over 625 million dollars in such scams. It’s truly saddening. However, it’s hard to sympathize with those who fall for such things…. I just don’t know.”
Bliss, on the other hand, has consistently made efforts to alert fans about such scams, emphasising she would never send unsolicited messages asking for money or valuables.
There was a report earlier this month which spoke about a man who lost a million dollars and his granddaughter’s college fund to a scammer who was impersonating Bliss. The man continued to lose money to the scammer even after his family warned him about such frauds, and he continued to do so until his death earlier this year.
