Dylan ‘Hornswoggle’ Postl, who previously clinched the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, recently shared an unusual experience which involved a rooster under a wrestling ring. He made these revelations during the latest episode of the podcast called “What Were They Thinking”.
Postl was waiting for his cue under the ring when he suddenly noticed a rooster, which quickly became a challenge as he confessed he has a fear of birds. He stated,
“I don’t have a liking for birds. Birds can be really terrifying; they’re generally unpredictable and can turn aggressive quickly. There I was with a rooster in what was effectively a cage with me. It would escape, only to be kicked back under. Repeat.”
Postl also shared his desperate attempts to devise a strategy for not having to be in close proximity with the bird while shirtless and changing under the ring. He explained,
“I see sudden flashes under the ring, and I’m in the process of changing. I spot this kendo stick and I realize it’s either kill or be killed: I either beat this rooster away using the stick or I leave the ring, disclose my position, because I’m not about to come face to face with this rooster.”
He also said that the entire incident was captured on camera by Dave ‘Fit’ Finlay. Postl was with WWE from 2006 to 2016 and has since competed for TNA Wrestling.
Earlier this year, Postl signed a new WWE Legends contract with WWE and recently appeared in the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble episode.
