NBC has given a straight-to-series order to the comedy “Young Rock” from Dwayne Johnson and Nahnatchka Khan, the creator of the series “Fresh Off the Boat.” According to a report from The Wrap, the single-camera comedy will chronicle the younger years of Johnson, with the legendary wrestler set to appear in all 11 episodes of the show.
It’s unknown exactly how the show will work out or who else will be starring in it, but it seems clear NBC is happy to bet on Johnson. Currently the host of NBC’s “The Titan Games,” Johnson has become one of the world’s biggest and brightest stars, and will likely bring in a sizable audience to any television show he’ll appear in.
