Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson once almost graced the set of the YouTube hit show, Hot Ones. However, his peculiar request: no poultry in sight, seemed somewhat misaligned with the central premise of the show. Hot Ones has carved a unique niche through their spicy wing contests paired with engaging interviews. Hence, Johnson’s peculiar request seemed a bit offbeat.
Sean Evans, the host of the show in a conversation with Bloomberg, expressed his wish for Johnson’s participation, but revealed that the replacement for the customary chicken wings has been a stumbling block. He shared an interesting anecdote, “We’ve been negotiating for Dwayne’s presence for years. I once got a response that suggested, ‘would you consider, instead of chicken wings, grilled salmon strips?’ This proposition led me to believe that it must have come from Johnson. But that’s the closest we’ve got. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.”
Johnson is famously particular about his nutritional intake and work-out regimen. His commitment to both is often documented and analyzed to understand the origin of his distinctive physique, along with his indulgence in cheat meals. Apparently, hot wings seem to be something he prefers to omit, thereby disinclining him from participating in the show.
Meanwhile, another wrestling legend, Steve Austin, demonstrated a contrasting opinion by taking on the challenge, as depicted here:
Wishing to see “The Rock” face-off against the spicy wings on Hot Ones? Or would he get a pass sans wings? Some might consider it an easy way out. What’s your view on this? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
