Dutch Mantel On Why IYO SKY Winning MITB Was The Right Call

IYO SKY’s victory at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 was absolutely the right call, according to wrestling manager veteran ‘Dirty’ Dutch Mantel.

SKY captured the coveted briefcase at the London event earlier this month, defeating Trish Stratus, Zoey Stark, Becky Lynch, Raquel Rodriguez, and her Damage CTRL ally Bayley.

Speaking on the latest “Wrestle Binge,” Mantel explained why SKY getting the victory made a lot more sense than other favorites such as Lynch or Bayley. He said,

“I think they made the right decision. If she needs it. Becky Lynch doesn’t need it, Bayley doesn’t need it. Now, it gives them a place to go. So, I think they made the right move on that one.

“Anybody thought they made the wrong move, then you’d say well what move should they have made? Well, I never thought it through that much. I just stopped it to finish.” 

On last week’s SmackDown, SKY’s attempt to cash in on WWE Women’s Universal Champion Asuka was thwarted.

Since the bell never rang, SKY remains Miss. Money in the Bank.
