Wrestling star, Dustin Rhodes, made known on Monday his move to secure a fresh, multi-year contract with AEW.
Rhodes first stepped into the AEW ring at the event, Double Or Nothing, in 2019. His official contract was put in ink a few months later, in August of that year.
Presently, Rhodes stands triumphant with the ROH World Tag Team Championships and the ROH World Trios Tag Team Championships cups in his possession.
In a heartfelt note, Rhodes expressed, “Today I have signed a new multi yr contract with @AEW.”
He continued, “I want to thank my boss @TonyKhan for every opportunity he has given me. Since coming here and being an original since inception, I have truly had the time of my life. Everybody knows my story, and how much I have been through in all my yrs. Lost my passion and found it again HERE in @AEW at the first Double Or Nothing. Did not expect this One Last Ride to last as long as it has, and man, what a run I have had.”
Rhodes also indicated his intentions to finish his career with AEW, stating, “I will finish my career here at #AEW as I feel it is home to me. I have never felt respected and wanted like I have here. This makes me want to do my very best for Tony and push myself harder than I ever have. I feel loved and wanted here. I love all of our roster deeply.”
He extended gratitude towards fans, co-workers, and AEW for their unending support and faith in him. He then expressed excitement about his future journeys in AEW, and finally thanked his family, who he termed as “the true rockstars.”
With renewed zest, he concluded, “I AM ONCE AGAIN #AllElite #OneLastRide #KeepSteppin.”
The announcement was originally made via a tweet by Rhodes on December 24, 2024.
