Experienced wrestler Dustin Rhodes came to his own defense when a fan insinuated that he refrained from wrestling full-time in WWE due to his fear of ‘the grind’.
After seeing the fan’s assertion on Twitter, Rhodes promptly retorted, indicating that he had previously spent years following WWE’s demanding schedule. He reposted the fan’s comment, replying:
Hey dimwit, I’ve already done that grind. You have no clue. Return to your hiding place https://t.co/IaN8HEq2rV

The term ‘grind’ kindled a controversy in 2024 when WWE’s Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque dropped a hint that some wrestlers intentionally avoid striking a deal with WWE to dodge its bustling schedule.
Even though Levesque didn’t spell out names, a majority inferred his remarks as an implicit jab at Will Ospreay who recently signed an agreement with AEW.
Ospreay has recently put forth allegations, citing unnamed sources, that Levesque’s cryptic remarks were aimed at him. So far, Levesque has refrained from issuing any response to Ospreay’s claims.
