Drew McIntyre feels that Vince McMahon and Triple H we’re happy to see him finally reach his potential. Drew McIntyre will have the dubious distinction of being the first, and potentially only, WWE Superstar to ever win in the main event of WrestleMania and be crowned WWE Champion in front of nobody.
Speaking with Sportskeeda, Drew McIntyre openly reflected on the empty reaction backstage with only essential personnel being in attendance and the vibe that he got from Triple H and Vince McMahon, two of his biggest supporters throughout his career when he finally won the big one.
“The backstage reaction was non-existent because of the setup there was nobody back there initially,” McIntyre began. “So, it was kind of weird. But you know when I got to Mr. McMahon and Triple H and obviously, we had such minimal personnel there, the people who were there especially, the crew people who have watched me grow up, you know everybody was very happy and very proud. I think for Vince and Hunter themselves, they were just very happy to see that I have finally kind of grown up and realized the potential they had seen in me all those years ago.”
